‘Cats drop opener of UNLV Tournament

Las Vegas, Nevada — On Friday, the Weber State women's tennis team lost their opening game of the UNLV Quad Tournament to host team UNLV 6-1.
Weber State was unable to secure the doubles point in the match. The 'Cats dropped the match on Court #1 by a score of 6-1 and the match on Court #2 by 6-0. The third match went unfinished as UNLV took a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
Sydney Schnell put the team on the board winning her matchup in the #1 position 6-1, 7-6 (7-1). This would be the only team point for the Wildcats as the other four matches were lost in two sets each. Alicia Morales was pulled out of the match causing the Wildcats to forfeit play on Court #6.
The team takes the court again tomorrow morning in game two of the tournament against Youngstown State. Youngstown State comes into the match winners of their last two while the Wildcats are still searching for their first win on the season.
