Peter Visser Named Big Sky Athlete of the Week

Visser recorded fastest 8k time in Weber State history.

Peter Visser has been named Big Sky Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. The Wildcat Senior earned the award after placing fifth in the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Springfield, Oregon.

Visser posted a time of 23:17.59 on the 8k course, which is the fastest 8k race recorded in Weber State's history.

Visser helped the Wildcats to a third place finish in Oregon. This podium is one of the four top-3 finishes the Wildcats have had this season.

Weber State only finished behind two ranked teams in the race in Springfield, No. 14 Oregon and No. 23 Air Force. The Wildcats tallied 103 total points.

The Wildcats will look forward to the Big Sky Championships in Bozeman, Montana November 1 and the NCAA Mountain Region Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah November 14.
