Three Wildcats scored in double figures in the win. Season opener is Monday.
OGDEN - Weber State men's basketball picked up a 66-63 exhibition win over Colorado Christian on Wednesday night at the Dee Events Center.Â
The game was the only exhibition for the Wildcats, who start the 2025-26 season on Monday night at home.Â
Weber State jumped out to a 39–31 halftime lead after shooting nearly 48 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes.Â
Colorado Christian rallied in the second half, using an 8–0 run early in the period to tie the game at 39–39 before briefly taking the lead. But the Wildcats responded when Tijan Saine Jr. drove for a go-ahead layup with 18 seconds remaining.
After a defensive stop, Jace Whiting sealed the win with a free throw in the final seconds.Â
Weber State shot 40 percent from the field and held Colorado Christian to 39 percent shooting. The Wildcats dominated the boards 40–34 and scored 15 fast-break points.Â
Whiting led the Wildcats with 11 points, seven assists, and five rebounds in 28 minutes. Edwin Suarez Jr. and Nigel Burris each added 10 points, while Malek Gomma nearly had a double-double with nine points and 14 rebounds. Saine Jr. finished with seven points and two assists.
The 2025-26 season officially begins on Monday night when Weber State hosts West Coast Baptist at 7 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.Â
