The Weber State women's cross country team claimed first place in the Idaho State Invitational on Friday in Pocatello. The Wildcats totaled 41 points.
Danielle Brow finished in first place with a 18:08 pace on the 5K course.
Jolynn Jones was the second Wildcat to finish at 18:17 in fifth. Charlotte Wilkinson recorded a time of 18:28 to finish seventh, quickly followed by Maggie Featherstone in eighth at 18:32. Loryn Brimhall wrapped up the top five, posting an 18:55 race in 20th place.
"So happy with the effort today from our team!" said WSU head coach Lindsey Anderson. "We had a great day with this group. Dani took the lead halfway through and never looked back in her season-opening race for the win. The rest weren't too far behind her to solidify the team win. It was a fun day of racing from these ladies."
The Wildcats will compete in two meets next Friday at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Oregon and the Utah State meet in Logan. Those will be the final meets before the Big Sky Championships on November 1 in Missoula, Montana.
