Five players scored in double figures in Weber State's win the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge.

OGDEN - Weber State used a dominant start and a balanced offensive performance to power past Oral Roberts 92–66, on Wednesday night at the Dee Events Center.

The game was the first of the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge and was the second straight win for the Wildcats.

Oral Roberts scored the first three points of the game, but it was all Weber State after that. The Wildcats had a 19-3 run early in the game and led 29-11. It was a 30-6 run over a 10-minute stretch in the first half, and the 'Cats held a 43-23 lead at halftime.

WSU's lead was never less than 17 points in the second half, and the 'Cats led by as many as 30 before the 26-point win.

Weber State shot a season-best 55 percent from the field in the win and held Oral Roberts to 37 percent shooting. The 'Cats also won the rebounding margin 40-27 and had 19 assists. They forced Oral Roberts into 15 turnovers and outscored the Golden Eagles 58-16 in points in the paint.

"Really proud of the effort again tonight," said WSU head coach Eric Duft. "They played really aggressively and controlled the game with another well-balanced team performance."

The 'Cats had five players in double figures, led by junior Jace Whiting with 18 points, and with four assists. Tijan Saine Jr. added 15 points with seven assists and seven rebounds.

Edwin Suarez Jr. had 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds, and Nigel Burris added 11 points on 5 of 5 shooting.

Freshman Duce Paschal scored a career-high 10 points and also chipped in five rebounds and two blocked shots.

Weber State improves to 4-4 on the season and has won three of the last four games.

The Wildcats will play the second game of the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge this Sunday at St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Tipoff on Sunday will be at 11 a.m. Mountain time. The game will be televised on the Summit League Network for a fee.
