Brad Ferreira named RSPA Intermountain College Coach of the Year

Ogden, UT – Weber State Men's Tennis head coach Brad Ferreira was awarded the 2024 RSPA Intermountain College Coach of the Year.
The Wildcats finished the 2024 season with a 10-13 record and a 5-4 mark in conference play. The 'Cats entered the Big Sky Conference Tournament as the #4 seed taking down Montana State in the opening round of the tournament. Their season came to an end at the hands of the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks falling in the semi-finals of the tournament.
Ferreira is a former Weber State standout tennis player who took over the program in 2012. His playing career for the Wildcats spanned from 1986-90. He played in the #2 singles slot and #1 doubles position in his career for the 'Cats and helped lead the team to 4 straight Big Sky Conference Championships. Ferreira also made an NCAA appearance in doubles in 1988 and 1989 with partner Lindsay Rawstorne and finished 1989 ranked #11 in doubles in the country.
Since taking over the Wildcat program in 2012, Ferreira has guided the team to an overall record of 130-145 and 72-38 in conference play. He has led them to three Big Sky regular season titles in 2014, 2015, and 2016 and one trip to the NCAA Championships in 2016.
The Racquet Sports Professional Association (RSPA) was founded in 1927 and is the global leader in tennis-teacher certification and professional development.
In 2018, the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) named him the Intermountain Professional of the Year. He has been a member of the USPTA for the last 32 years.
Men's Tennis is 2-4 in their young season. Conference play for the Wildcats will begin on Saturday, February 22nd as they will take on the Bobcats of Montana State at the Ogden Athletic Club. The match will begin at 1:00 p.m.
