GAME NOTES: Wildcats continue road game stretch against Bengals on Saturday

Weber State women's basketball will matchup against the Idaho State Bengals on Saturday at Reed Gym in Pocatello, Idaho. Tipoff is schedule for 2 p.m.
This will be the 100th all-time meeting between the Wildcats and Bengals with the series beginning in 1977. The series is led byIdaho State 50-49 with the Bengals leading in Pocatello 27-22. The last game between the two was on January 11 where the Wildcats to the win in overtime 72-67.
Idaho State is under the direction of Seton Sobolewski who is in his 17th season as head coach. As head coach, Sobolewski has coached 31 Big Sky All-Conference Team members, been named Big Sky Coach of the Year three times and won 272 games over the past 16 seasons.
The Bengals are 8-13, 3-7 this season. In their most recent game against the Northern Colorado Bears, the Bengals fell 59-51 in Greeley. Idaho State is led by Sophia Covello who averages 9.8 points per game and Kacey Spink who averages 7.4 rebounds per game and also leads in assists and steals.
Weber State is under the direction of second year head coach Jenteal Jackson who was named the seventh head coach in WSU history. A Utah native and former in-state college player, she came to Weber State after spending the two seasons as head coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Westminster. She played college basketball at BYU and Westminster.
The Wildcats are coming off a 81-76 loss to the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks. Weber State outscored the Lumberjacks 17-15 and maintained the lead throughout the first quarter of game play. Keeping it close with the Lumberjacks, the Wildcats ended the game shooting 45 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from long range and 81.8 percent from the free throw line while the Lumberjacks shot 45.5 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from long range and 80 percent from the free throw line. Wildcat Kendra Parra led the team with 22 points, her third time this season with 20 plus points. Antoniette Emma-Nnopu recorded her ninth double-double of the season totaling 14 points and 10 rebounds. Â
Three Wildcats are nationally ranked in the top 100. Taylor Smith is ranked No. 6 in free throw percentage. Kendra Parra is ranked No. 7 in free throw percentage and No. 90 in free throws. Antoniette Emma-Nnopu is ranked No. 48 in rebounds, No. 26 in offensive rebounds, No. 32 in rebounds per game and No. 29 in double-doubles.
Wildcats Kendra Parra, Kennedy Eskelson, Margarita Satini, Taylor Smith, and Amanda Edwards all return to the Weber State team this season. Weber State picked up transfers Rose Bubakar from BYU, Antoniette Emma-Nnopu from UNC Greensboro, Lanae Billy from Fort Lewis College, Japrix Stubbs from USU Eastern, and Arizana Peaua from Westminster. The team also welcomed five newcomers, Maya Davis, Fui Niumeitolu, Mata Peaua, Dakota Nap, and Vanna Quintana.
Following Saturday's game, the Wildcats return home for a game against Montana State on Feb. 13.
