‘Cats comeback falls short against Vikings

Beaverton, Ore — The Weber State women's tennis team fell to the Portland State Vikings 4-3 as their comeback in singles play fell short.
The 'Cats were swept in doubles play falling 6-2 in position #1 and 6-1 on Court #2. The duo of Alicia Morales and Aleks Bozinovska went unfinished in their match in the number three position.
The Vikings and Wildcats split singles matches with three going to each team. Jessica Hill quickly got the 'Cats back to square by winning her singles match 6-1, 6-0. Cindy Li and Aleks Bozinovska both took their matches to the limit winning in the third set. Savannah Johnson pushed her match to the third set but ultimately fell short 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-2).
The Wildcats will continue conference play against the Idaho State Bengals on Saturday, March 8th at the Ogden Athletic Club. The Bengals come into Saturday 6-7 with an 0-1 mark in conference play. The Wildcats will continue their search for their first victory of the season at the Ogden Athletic Club at 11:00 a.m.
