Kapua Pulotu posted the best mark in the Big Sky this season in the discus.
LOGAN - The Weber State women's track and field team continued to improve with more seasonal and career bests Friday and Saturday at the Aggie Invitational in Logan.Â
The 'Cats did not race any distance runners, but made more strides in the sprints and field events.Â
Senior Kapua Pulotu posted the best mark in the Big Sky this season in the discus. She finished second in the event with a mark of 171-01, which is currently the best throw in the Big Sky Conference this season. She was also sixth in the shot put at 43-03.25.Â
Rachel Roberts finished fifth in the shot put at 43-09.75, a seasonal best performance.Â
Aimee Chambers-Lenthe was third in the high jump with a mark of 5-03.25.Â
In the track events, Payge Walz and Eliza Smith both had outstanding performances in two different events each.Â
Walz finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.91, which is currently the fifth-best in the conference. She was also in the 100 meters at 12.09.Â
Smith was third in the 200 meters at 25.26, and finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.12.Â
Weber State will next compete at the BYU Robison Invitational in Provo next weekend, which will be the final meet before the Big Sky Championships.Â
