Weber State falls to Oregon in NCAA Regional matchup

EUGENE, Ore. - Weber State made their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the Big Sky Tournament in Greeley, Colorado last weekend. Earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, the Wildcats dropped a 8-0 decision in five innings to the Oregon Ducks and will now face the Binghamton Bearcats tomorrow, May 17 at 4:30 p.m. MT.Â
The Ducks struck first with a home run in the opening inning.
Oregon added four more runs in the fourth, highlighted by a two-RBI double and a two-RBI homer to extend their lead to 5-0.Â
In the fifth, the Ducks stole home to make it 6-0, then tacked on two additional runs to close out the game early with an 8-0 victory in five innings.
The Wildcats managed just three hits in the game. Taegan Smith and Jordan McMahon each singled, while Eva Richardson recorded her eighth double of the season.
Cali McCraw took the loss (10-6), allowing runs while facing 16 batters over 3.1 innings.
