Weber State kept their strong postseason run rolling through regionals as they recorded their first win in the NCAA Tournament since 2019.
Wildcats crowned Big Sky Tournament Champions
The 2025 Big Sky Championship came down to a winner-take-all game in Greeley, Colorado as the No. 3 seed Weber State topped No. 1 seed Idaho State 10-4 to secure the program's fifth tournament crown and first since 2022.Â
The Wildcats also defeated No. 6 Montana, No. 2 Sacramento State and No. 1 Idaho State two times to win the title.Â
Weber State has won the Big Sky Tournament title five times since it began for softball in 2013.

The Wildcats were led by Tournament MVP, Olivia Birkinshaw who recorded four runs, four hits and five RBI in Saturday's championship games.Â

Weber State in the NCAA's
Weber State recorded a win against the Binghamton Bearcats 7-4 in an elimination game in the Eugene Regional. The win marks the school's and conference's second win in the NCAA Tournament. The other win came in 2019 when Weber State defeated Cal State Fullerton.
Weber State faced host No. 16-seed Oregon two times, dropping both contests and putting an end to their season. The Wildcats closed out the season with a 29-32 overall record.

The Wildcats earned spots in several single-season team records: they ranked fifth in runs, fourth in hits, first in home runs, third in RBI, first in total bases, ninth in strikeouts and fourth in fielding percentage.
All five Weber State seniors also left their mark on the program's history. Olivia Birkinshaw finished her career ranked sixth in career home runs with 16. Jayci Finch ranks fifth in career saves with three and tenth in strikeouts with 92. Brooke Merrill holds tenth place in career wins with 13. Eva Richardson and Gianna Memoli made their impact on the single-season individual records—Richardson ranks first in caught stealing and seventh in games played, while Memoli is tied for first in fielding percentage.
Several other Wildcats also secured spots in the record books, highlighting the team's outstanding performance this season.
