Logan, UT - The Utah State Aggies took down the Weber State Women's Soccer team 2-1 on Thursday night in Logan, Utah.
The Aggies put consistent pressure on the Wildcat defensive line and freshman keeper Lauren Butorac all night. The Aggies shot 5 corners in the first 10 minutes of the game and outshot the Wildcats 13-1 in the first half.
Butorac saved all shots sent her way in the first half as the two teams went into the half tied at 0-0.
Oakley Anderson sent a shot left in the 13th minute, and Cadence Packer's shot was saved high in the 35th minute as the Weber State offense was unable to get into a consistent rhythm on the night.
The Aggies finally took the lid off the goal in the 64th minute, connecting on their 5th shot on goal of the match to pull in front 1-0. Aggies struck again 3 minutes later in the 67th minute to take a 2-0 lead.
The 'Cats got on the board in the 87th minute after Sayler Schlosser made the Aggie keeper miss and put it in the back of the net. Lily Blum set Schlosser up with her first assist of the season.
The Wildcats have a quick turnaround as they will finally return home to take on the Utah Valley Wolverines on Monday night at Wildcat Soccer Field. This will be the first home match for the 'Cats in 3 weeks and will be a black-out.
