The Weber State men's track and field team competed at the Snake River Invitational in Pocatello, Idaho Thursday and Friday.
"We're not 100% full force right now. We're being patient with a few injuries and had a few guys sick, but we did see some really solid performances," Head Coach Corbin Talley said.
Tyler Warnick set a PR in the long jump at 23'-7.25. Just missing the Indoor Top 10 Records.Â
Kale Thomas cleared 6'-7.5 in the high jump for 4th place.
"Some other notable performances were Will Luoma's final push to pass a few guys at the finish of the 800, Warnick's has a patient mile and strong finish, and Carson Day had a gutsy move with about 800m left in the 3k," Talley said.
"We need to see a lot more of that. Guys stepping up when it gets hard or taking risks late in races or keeping focus on later attempts in the competition."
"Overall, we came away from the meet with some solid season bests, but feeling like we have a lot of work to do in the coming weeks," Talley said.
Weber State will split squad for the upcoming meets in Seattle, Washington and Logan, Utah. Both meets will take place January 30-31.
Weber State will also host the Weber State High School Invitational January 23-24.
