Las Vegas, NV — The Weber State Wildcats women's tennis team closed out the weekend UNLV Tournament with a 7-0 loss to the Utah Tech Trailblazers.
In doubles, after the Wildcats fell behind early, Naomi Johnson and Paulina Aleksandrowicz kept the team's hopes alive in doubles play, taking their match on Court #3, 7-5. Ultimately, the Trailblazer would clinch the doubles point after Jessica Hill and Aleks Bozinovska fell in a tiebreaking set in position #1.
In singles, Naomi Johnson and Jessica Hill were both able to take their opponents to the brink before falling in the third frame of their match. Johnson fell 6-1, 2-6, 0-6, and Hill dropped her match 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-8).
The 'Cats went 0-3 on the weekend in Las Vegas and will return to the court this Saturday against the Utah State Aggies. The Aggies will enter Saturday with a 2-1 mark on the season and will face Weber State on the back-end of a doubleheader after facing off against the Idaho State Bengals earlier in the day.
The match will begin at 4:00 p.m. in Logan, Utah.
