Regular season finale is Monday night at Portland State

Weber State can still finish fourth, fifth, or sixth in the Big Sky Tournament seeding.
• It's March and time to begin the madness. Riding a three-game winning streak, Weber State enters the final game of the Big Sky regular season Monday night against league-leading Portland State with much still to be solved for tournament seeding.
• The Wildcats and Vikings will tipoff at 7 p.m. Pacific time (8 MT) from the Viking Pavilion in Portland. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and the ESPN app with the WSU radio broadcast on 103.1 FM "The Coast".
• Weber State has won three straight and five of its last six heading into the season finale. The Wildcats are coming off an 83-73 win over Idaho State on Saturday. WSU shot 51.7 percent from the field and improved to 13-1 this season when leading its opponent in field goal percentage.
• Entering the final game of the season there is still plenty to be determined. Weber State is 10-7 in Big Sky play and currently in a tie for fourth in the league standings. With a win on Monday, the Wildcats could finish as high as a tie for second, but would at least clinch a tie for fourth.
WSU has secured a top six finish for Starch Madness in Boise and will play on Monday, March 9 in the quarterfinals. For tournament seeding, Weber State can still finish fourth, fifth, or sixth.
• Portland State is first in the Big Sky standings at 12-5 and has clinched at least a share of the league regular season title. The Vikings have led the Big Sky most of the season, but have lost three straight games, and still needs a win, or losses by Montana State and Eastern Washington, to secure an outright title. A win secures first place, with a loss, the Vikings could end in a three-way tie for first place and could still finish first, second or third, depending on other outcomes.
• Tijan Saine Jr. scored 24 points to lead the Wildcats in Saturday's win, before leaving in the final minutes with an ankle injury. It was his 14th time this season scoring at least 20 points in a game, and he has reached at least 20 in 11 of WSU's 17 Big Sky games. He has led the Wildcats in scoring in 13 of the 17 conference games.
Saine continues to lead the conference in scoring in Big Sky games at 21.1 points per game. He is also second in the Big Sky and 22nd in the nation in free throw percentage at 89.9 percent, the third best percentage in a season in WSU history.
On Saturday, Saine became the 26th player in Weber State history to score at least 500 points in a season.
• Viljami Vartiainen knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 16 points in Saturday's win. He has made at least two 3-pointers in 13 straight games and has also pulled down six rebounds in each of the last three games.
Vartiainen leads the Big Sky and ranks ninth in the nation in 3-point percentage at 43.8 percent. He is shooting 47.3 percent in Big Sky games. He is also now first in the conference in 3-pointers per game at 3.0.
He is ninth in WSU history in career 3-pointers with 173. He is also currently eighth in school history in career percentage at 40.9 percent.
• Sophomore Trevor Hennig scored 13 points in Saturday's win. Over the last three games, Hennig is averaging 16 points per game.
• Weber State leads the Big Sky in rebounding at 37.4 per game. The 'Cats are also second in the conference in scoring offense and rebounding margin.
• Portland State leads the Big Sky in scoring defense and field goal percentage defense. The Vikings are also second in scoring margin, blocks, and steals.
Terri Miller Jr. is third in the Big Sky in scoring at 18.9 points per game and Tre-Vaughn Minot leads the league in rebounding at 8.9.
The Vikings have seven seniors on the team in their final home game on Monday
• Weber State and Portland State opened the new year and the Big Sky regular season on January 1 in Ogden, and will now conclude the regular season on March 2 in Portland. The Vikings beat the Wildcats 95-90 in overtime on New Year's Day. Jaylin Henderson scored 34 points to lead the Vikings and Teri Miller Jr. added 29. Tijan Saine had 23 points and eight assists and Edwin Suarez had a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
• Weber State is 47-21 all-time against Portland State but the series is 8-8 over the last 16 games. The Vikings have won three of the last five against the Wildcats.
In Portland, the series is 16-16 all-time and PSU has won four of the last five.
