Wildcats secure series over LMU, 2-1

OGDEN - Wildcat softball secured a 3-2 victory over the Loyola Marymount Lions on Sunday afternoon at Wildcat Field. The win secured the series in favor of the 'Cats 2-1.Â
LMU struck first with a solo home run in the opening inning, but Weber State answered in the second as Sienna Solis drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to even the score. The Wildcats took the lead in the third inning when Sadie
Kirk delivered an RBI single, and added another run in the fourth after Sammy Gallegos reached and came around to score on an error.
The Lions trimmed the deficit to one in the fifth, but Weber State's pitching held strong down the stretch to preserve the 3-2 win.
The Wildcats totaled six hits in the contest, with Jordan Hart leading the way with a 2-for-3 performance. Kirk added a hit and an RBI, while Solis also drove in a run.
In the circle, Kendall Freidinger earned the win after tossing six innings, allowing two runs while scattering five hits. Cali McCraw picked up the save, closing out the final inning to secure the victory.
