Weber State records five shots on goal in a 3-0 loss to the Wolverines
OREM, Utah — Weber State soccer fell 3-0 to Utah Valley Saturday night at Clyde Field.
Utah Valley opened the scoring in the 17th minute, with Josie Clawson finding the back of the net at 16:47. Clawson added her second goal of the night just before halftime, scoring at 37:03 to give the Wolverines a 2-0 advantage at the break.
Utah Valley added another goal in the 58th minute when Quinn Rustand scored at 58:00 to extend the lead to 3-0.
The Wildcats continued to create opportunities throughout the match, finishing with eight shots, including five on goal.
Lily Blum and Simone Packer each recorded two shots, with one shot on goal apiece. Oakley Anderson and Nellie each added a shot on frame, while Mina Nydegger recorded two shots with one on goal.
In goal, Lauren Butorac recorded four saves for Weber State.
Utah Valley finished with 13 shots and seven on goal, while the Wildcats held the Wolverines to four saves.
Weber State falls to 3-5-1 on the season and will return home Friday, Sept. 25, to host Colorado State at 7 p.m. at Wildcat Soccer Field.
