Wildcats Shut Out Pacific For Third Win of the Season

KJ Skinner scores in the 15th minute as Weber State earns a 1-0 victory over the Tigers
STOCKTON, Calif. — Weber State soccer returned to the win column Thursday night, defeating Pacific 1-0 on the road behind a first-half goal from KJ Skinner and a strong defensive effort from the Wildcats.
Skinner put Weber State on the board in the 15th minute, finding the back of the net at 14:20 to give the Wildcats an early 1-0 advantage.
Weber State continued to apply pressure throughout the match, finishing with 16 shots and 11 shots on goal. Oakley Anderson led the Wildcats with three shots, all three finding the frame, while Simone Packer added four shots, including two on goal.
Isabella Sackett recorded two shots with one on target, while Lily Blum added three shots and one on goal. Amanda Caswell and Cadence Packer each registered a shot on frame, while Skinner finished with two shots, both on goal.
The Wildcats' defense held Pacific off the scoreboard to secure the shutout. Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Butorac recorded three saves in the victory.
The win moves Weber State to 3-2-1 on the season.
The Wildcats will return home next week to host South Dakota State Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. at Wildcat Soccer Field.
