Eugene Frazier

Eugene Frazier is in his first years as an assistant coach with the Weber State men’s and women’s track and field teams. Frazier was named an assistant coach in August 2023 and coaches the sprints, hurdles, and jumps for both Wildcat teams.
Frazier came to Weber State with an extensive background as both a runner and a coach. He spent over 20 years coaching in college track and field and has coached multiple All-Americans and numerous athletes that have qualified for the Olympic and World Championship teams.
Frazier has spent time as an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech, Florida A&M, Butler Community College, and Kansas City Community College.
A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Frazier has spent the last four years training professional, college, and high school athletes in the Kansas City area.
He was an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech from 2014-18 where he coached 18 conference champions and several NCAA East Region qualifiers. He was also a part of two Ohio Valley Conference Championship teams.
From 2012-14, he was an assistant coach at Florida A&M University where he coached two conference champions and five athletes that qualified for the NCAA East Regionals.
Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at Butler Community College in Kansas where he produced two NJCAA indoor national champions and coached multiple region and conference champions. He was named the 2008 National Junior College Women’s Assistant of the Year.
He began his coaching career in 1998 as an assistant coach at Kansas City Community College where he spent eight years coaching. He coached more than 30 All-Americans and 15 National Champions at the junior college level.
Frazier was a standout track and field athlete at Alabama State University and was named the Most Outstanding Sprinter during his career. He won the SWAC title in the 60 meters, 100 meters, and the 4x100 meter relay.
He graduated from Alabama State in 1998 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He continued his career as a professional track athlete for several years and twice qualified for the USATF Indoor Nationals.
