Wildcats Down NAU to Remain Unbeaten in Big Sky

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Hayley McCoy scored her third goal in the last two games to lead the Weber State women's soccer team to a 1-0 road win over Northern Arizona at Lumberjack Stadium on Friday night.
The win moves the Wildcats to .500 overall on the season at 6-6-2 and gives the team another three crucial points in the Big Sky race as they improved to 3-0 in league play. Northern Arizona drops to 7-6-2 overall and to 1-1-1 in the conference.
McCoy put the Wildcats on the board in the 13th minute as she took a pass from Molli Nielson and fired a shot from outside the box, beating NAU goalkeeper Tori Rocke for her fifth tally of the season.
Weber State outshot the Lumberjacks 16-9 overall and 9-3 in shots on-goal. WSU goalkeeper Rebecca Ritchie posted three saves to earn her fifth shutout of the season. Rocke recorded eight saves for NAU.
Weber State will next travel to Greeley, Colo. for its final Big Sky regular season road match of the season as they face Northern Colorado on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 3:00 p.m.
