Men's Tennis Wins Third-Straight

OGDEN, Utah -- The Weber State men's tennis team (4-5) picked up its third-straight win on Sunday with a 6-1 win over the Air Force Academy (5-3) at the Ogden Athletic Club.
The Wildcats swept the doubles matches, winning 8-5 at No. 1, 8-6 in the second spot and 8-4 at No. 3.
In singles, only Fabio Mancarella faltered, dropping a tough three-set match to Brett Rodgers in the No. 1 position. The Wildcats took the two-through-six spots all in straight-sets.
Henning Hipp defeated Austin Francis at No. 2, winning 6-3, 7-6. Sascha Kiehne earned a win at No. 3, downing James Tomlin 6-1, 6-2. Nick Plum beat Taylor Soster 7-5, 6-2 at No. 4, Chris Williams defeated Johnny Buckingham 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5 and Travis Covington dispatched Greg Ferry 6-2, 6-1 in the six spot.
