CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Ari Wood's goal six and a half minutes into overtime led the Weber State women's soccer team (3-5-1) to a 2-1 victory over Oregon State on Friday night.

Hayley McCoy put the Wildcats up 1-0 in the 74th minute, netting a long shot to the upper portion of the net. The goal is the second of the season for the senior midfielder and ties her with Whitney Smith for the team lead in scoring with eight points.

The Beavers countered with the equalizer in the 86th minute as Red Nixon scored on an Ashley Seal assist. Seal's long cross found Nixon for a shot from five yards out to tie the score with less than five minutes left in regulation.

Wood ended the game in the 97th minute with a shot from 25 yards out to the upper corner of the net, beating OSU goalkeeper Katie Bell. The goal is the third of the season for the freshman midfielder and is her first collegiate game-winner.

Rebecca Ritchie earned the win for the Wildcats after missing the team's last game with an injury. Ritchie made six saves in the match, including some crucial saves late in the second half of play.

The Wildcats will next travel to Eugene, Ore. to take on their fourth Pac-10 opponent of the season as they face the University of Oregon on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. MDT.
