'Cats Drop First Two at Nevada

Reno, NV -- The Wildcat softball team opened up series play on Saturday and suffered a pair of losses as Nevada swept the doubleheader 8-0 and 12-1 at Hixson Park.
The Wildcats managed only a pair of hits in each of the two games as the Wolfpack pitching held the WSU lineup in check throughout the day
Angela DeVries scored the lone run for the Wildcats over the pair of games. DeVries singled with one out in the third inning of the second game and was driven home with a two-out double by shortstop Heather Jackson.
The Wildcats fell to 0-17 on the season with the two losses. They will face the Wolfpack one more time with a 1:00 p.m. PDT start on Sunday. The 'Cats will then head out to Moraga, Calif. to face PCSC Coastal Division opponent St. Mary's on Tuesday, March 16 for a doubleheader with the Gaels.
