'Cats Drop Opening Pair to Bears

GREELEY, Colo. -- The Weber State softball team dropped both games of the opening doubleheader of a four-game series at Northern Colorado on Saturday, falling 8-0 in the opener and 9-1 in the second game.
The Wildcats (1-37 overall; 1-9 Pacific Coast Softball Conference) managed only seven hits over the doubleheader, six of which came in the opener. Northern Colorado (14-28; 5-5) meanwhile, ran up 30 hits across the two games.
Weber State's lone run came when BreAnn Jones drew a bases-loaded walk in the top of the fourth inning, forcing in Linnea Ketcher, who started the inning with the team's only hit of the game.
The Wildcats will face the Bears two more times on Sunday, in a doubleheader beginning at Noon.
