Utah State Sweeps Doubleheader from WSU

LOGAN, Utah -- Utah State swept a doubleheader from the Wildcats on Tuesday afternoon with an 11-1 win in game one and a 9-3 win in game two at Johnson Field.
The Wildcats took an early lead in the opener, as Heather Jackson doubled home Abby Bowcutt for the Wildcats lone run of the game.
USU then blew the game open, scoring all of their runs for the game in the bottom of the second with an 11-run outburst. The first 11 Aggies that came to the plate in the inning reached base safely and eventually came around to score.
In game two, Weber State scored single runs in each of the first two innings to take a 2-0 lead. The Aggies responded with a three-run third inning and two runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
Britinie Hardine led off the game with her 10th home run of the year on a shot to left field. Aubri Chiquete duplicated Hardine's feat with a leadoff homer of her own in the second.
The final run of the day for Weber State came in the fifth, as Linnea Ketcher scored on a single down the left field line by Genasee Aman.
Both Ketcher and Chiquete had 2 for 5 days at the plate for the Wildcats, who dropped to 1-41 on the season. Utah State improved to 20-26 on the year with the pair of wins.
