OGDEN -- Errors proved to be costly for the Weber State University softball team.

Six errors spanning two games made the critical difference as the Wildcats dropped both ends of a Pacific Coast Softball Conference doubleheader to Northern Colorado on Friday afternoon at Wildcat Softball Field.

Weber State committed two in a 6-3 series opening-loss to the Bears, and then had four in a 10-5 decision in the day's end-cap.

Senior Britinie Hardine led the way for Weber State (8-26, 1-5 PCSC), hitting 4-of-6 across the two games with two RBIs and two doubles.

Hardine also pitched an inning in each game, extending her streak of games without allowing an earned run to eight across 13 innings.

Symbree Minniear had a strong first game, going 2-of-3 with a double for the Wildcats, while Lyndsey Minnich had two home runs, hitting 3-of-4 with four RBIs in the second game.

Shaila Rivers also had a pair of strong outings, garnering four hits in the afternoon.

Brooke Silva hit her first home run as a Wildcat in the second game.

In the first game, Northern Colorado (10-28, 6-0 Pacific Coast) scored five runs in the third inning to break open a scoreless game. The Bears led 6-0 before the Wildcats rallied to make it 6-3.

UNC went ahead 7-0 in the second game, with WSU cutting it to 7-1 on Silva's solo shot.

The Wildcats made it 7-3 on two-run homer from Minnich, but a disastrous three-error seventh inning saw the Bears bring across three more runs to make it 10-3.

Minnich hit her second home run of the game in the seventh to make it 10-5, but that's as close as the Wildcats would come.

Weber State will host Northern Colorado for two more games on Saturday at Wildcat Softball Field to wrap up the four-game PCSC series. Saturday's doubleheader, which begins at Noon, is also Weber State's Swing for Life day. All fans are encouraged to wear pink and the first 300 fans in attendance will receive a free pink t-shirt.
