SALT LAKE CITY -- The Wildcats just couldn't get their footing against on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior catcher Brandi Christopher went 2-of-3 and scored the only run of the day as the Weber State University softball team fell twice to in-state rival Utah at Ute Softball Field.
The Wildcats were able to garner just seven hits against the Utes, falling 8-0 and 9-1, with both games ending in the fifth inning on the run rule.
Weber State fell to 7-21 overall and had its two-game win streak snapped with the loss, which marked the final pre-conference tune-up for the Wildcats.
WSU will kick off its Pacific Coast Softball Conference schedule this weekend with a four-game series against Seattle University.
