WACO, Texas - Lining up against one of the Big 12 Conference's best teams, the Wildcats held their ground for over 90 minutes.
In the end, however, the Weber State University women's soccer team came up just one play short as Baylor's Karlee Summey scored in the first minute of overtime to lift the Bears to a 1-0 victory at Betty Lou Masy Field.
Summey's goal came after Lisa Sliwinski chipped the ball over WSU goalkeeper Ryann Waldman as Summey came onto it and scored from three yards out.
Baylor finished the match with a 20-1 shots advantage, including 10-1 on goal, but the Wildcats defense repeatedly turned back the Bears' attacks.
WSU has allowed just 11 goals in 10 matches, boasting the Big Sky Conference's goals-against average as the Wildcats prepare for the start of league action this week.
Weber State (2-8-0) will open Big Sky action on Friday afternoon against Idaho State (3-6-1) at Davis Field in Pocatello, Idaho.
