SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The Weber State men's golf team posted a three-round total of 874 at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic this week, and came away with a 21st-place finish.

The Wildcats opened the tournament with rounds of 287 and 288 on Monday, but slumped on Tuesday with a 299.

Kansas State held off a final-day charge by Colorado to earn the tournament title. K-State shot a three-round total of 826, 14 strokes under par, beating the Buffaloes by two shots.  Colorado's final-day 276 was third-best on the day.

K-State's Ben Juffer won individual medalist honors in a playoff with Colorado State's Mike Wuertz, after the pair finished the 54-hole tournament deadlocked at 12-under-par 198.

Weber State was led by Jordan Herzog, who shot rounds of 70, 69 and 71 for an even-par 210, earning a tie for 28th overall.  Jeff Jones shot an opening-round 69, but dropped off with rounds of 74 and 75 to shoot eight-over-par at 218 and finish tied for 80th.

Matt Wahlen (223) tied for 101st, Michael Johnson (224) tied for 108th, and Alex Sutton (231) tied for 120th.

The Wildcats will now gear up for the America Sky Golf Conference championships, which will take place April 29-May 1 at Lake of Isles Golf Club in Ledyard, Conn.
