Wildcats Roll to 6-1 Win over Lamar

OGDEN, Utah -- The Weber State men's tennis team rebounded from a Saturday loss to score a convincing 6-1 win over Lamar University on Sunday at the Ogden Athletic Club.
"Everyone really played well and took care of business for us today," said WSU head coach Brad Ferreira. "It was good for us to play well and come out with a solid win."
The Wildcats took all three doubles matches, and then scored wins in five of the six singles matches to secure the victory.
Caio Poitena and Oliver Good defeated Rob Lee and Steven McMullan 8-3 in the No. 1 doubles match, and Anthony Trabert and Jakub Gewert likewise won 8-3 over Trey Crysel and Carl-Philip Lindqvist in the No. 3 match to give the point to the Wildcats. Todd Fought and Sanjay Goswami added an 8-5 win over Mikko Rajamaki and Bruno Snyder in the No. 2 match.
In singles, Good defeated Snyder 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 3 match, while Poitena won at No. 4 over McMullan 6-4, 6-4. Goswami got past Rajamaki 6-4, 7-5 at No. 5 and Ryan Garner cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Crysel at No. 6.
Fought earned a win by default against Lindqvist in the No. 2 match, while Gewert suffered a hard-fought loss to Lee in the No. 1 match, falling 4-6, 7-6 (14-12), 10-7.
The Wildcats improved to 5-9 on the season with the win.
