GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Four players scored in double figures as Weber State won its first road game of the season with a 72-60 win over North Dakota Saturday afternoon at the Sioux Center. The Wildcats improve to 6-6 overall and 3-1 in Big Sky play with the win.

Senior Jordan Richardson scored a season-high 16 points with four three-pointers to lead the way for the Wildcats. Richardson returned to the starting lineup Saturday and also added four assists and three rebounds. Freshman Jeremy Senglin added 15 points with three assists and two rebounds and Davion Berry had 12 points.

WSU got a spark from senior Byron Fulton who added a season-high 10 points on 4-5 shooting. Fulton was 4-5 from the field and 2-3 from three-point range to go along with three rebounds. He had eight of his 10 points in the first half.

“I thought Jordan and Byron were both outstanding and really gave us a lift,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “We don't win the game without them and I'm really proud of them. They are always ready to play and really stepped up tonight.”

“We got off to a good start and we knew North Dakota would come back and they did,” Rahe continued. “The difference in the game was the run we made at the end of the first half. We just kept fighting and made some stops. That really gave us some momentum going into halftime. We had guys step up and really contribute and it was a good team win for us.”

It was first half of runs as WSU jumped out to a 9-0 lead six minutes into the game as North Dakota missed its first eight shots. UND then scored 10 straight points to take a 10-9 lead. WSU went eight minutes without a field goal during the first half but finished the half on a 24-8 run. The 'Cats scored the last nine points of the half, including two three-pointers from Fulton, and WSU led 36-24 at halftime.

North Dakota never got closer than seven points in the second half as Weber State shot 57 percent from the field in the half. The Wildcats improved to 4-0 against UND.

Weber State shot 49 percent from the field and held North Dakota to 40 percent shooting. The Wildcats also knocked down nine three-pointers, tying their season-high. The 'Cats also outrebounded UND 33-29. Both teams committed 17 turnovers on the night.

Joel Bolomboy led the Wildcats with 10 rebounds, the fifth straight game he has reached double figures in rebounding.

Weber State will now return home to play their next four games, beginning Saturday, Jan. 18 against Southern Utah.
