OGDEN, Utah – For 89 minutes and 56 seconds, the Wildcats did everything right.

Those four seconds, however, will haunt the Weber State University women's soccer team for a long time to come.

With the Wildcats holding to a 1-0 lead, Northern Arizona's Haley Wingender headed home a short cross from Lauren Doud with just four seconds remaining as the Lumberjacks rallied for a stunning 1-1 draw in Big Sky Conference action on Friday afternoon at Wildcat Soccer Field.

Weber State dominated play on the pitch, especially in the first half as the Purple and White came out firing on all cylinders, recording eight shots in the opening 13:09 before Northern Arizona earned its first attempt.

One of those shots result in junior defender Marissa Cook's first goal of the season after she latched onto a cross from senior midfielder Mackenzie Peck inside the box and fired it just inside the near post to give the Wildcats a 1-0 advantage in the ninth minute.

Peck nearly doubled the advantage in the 36th minute when her shot hit the post. Peck hit the post second time in the 51st minute, and a 56th minute shot from junior forward Stacy Bair rang off the crossbar as Weber State consistently dominated possession and run of play throughout the match.

The Wildcats' stellar play was ultimately undone in the final ticks of play when Doud escaped on the left side of the field and floated a cross into the box, where Wingender headed it back across the goalmouth and inside the near post to level the scoreline.

Both sides earned a pair of shots in the first overtime period, while Weber State recorded the first three shots of the second extra session before a late attempt by Wingender was blocked out of bounds for a corner kick.

Weber State (2-5-1 Big Sky, 5-11-1 overall) will be back in action on Sunday when the Wildcats host Southern Utah at Noon. The Thunderbirds (3-3-2 Big Sky, 6-6-3 overall) fell 2-1 to Idaho State on Friday in Pocatello, Idaho.
