OGDEN, Utah – The day began with rain showers, and didn't get a whole lot better for the Wildcats.

The Weber State University softball team matched arch-rival Idaho State run-for-run for two innings, but had no answer to the Bengals' onslaught at the plate over the final three innings of a 20-4 loss in Big Sky Conference action at Wildcat Softball Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Weber State, which dropped to 2-7 in league play and 19-17 overall, suffered through its worst conference loss in school history, allowing 20 runs for just the third time in the history of the program.

Idaho State improved to 4-2 in Big Sky play, 21-15 overall.

Junior catcher Mylee Davis accounted for three of the Wildcats' four runs, hitting a pair of home runs over the fence at center field, finishing the day 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Senior right-hander Jasmine Ioane had an RBI triple, which scored junior center fielder Malia Campos in the first inning.

Of the Bengals 20 runs, 11 were unearned due to three Wildcat errors, including a disastrous double error during Idaho State's 11-run fourth inning.

Weber State will return to action on Tuesday in a non-conference doubleheader against in-state rival Utah at 2 p.m., and then will be back in Big Sky action on Friday and Saturday when they travel to Grand Forks, N.D., to face the University of North Dakota for a three-game series.
