Wildcats drop tight match to Sac State

The Weber State men's tennis team dropped a tight match to Sacramento State falling 4-3 in the first Big Sky match of the season Friday afternoon.
Weber State started the match off by winning the No. 1 doubles match. The team of Sanjay Goswami and Stefan Cooper defeated Sean Kolar and Niranjan Ram 6-4.
In singles play the Wildcats won three out of six matches. Stefan Cooper defeated Kasparas Zemaitelis 6-1,6-3 in the No. 3 spot. Landon Barlow defeated Ayman Abdulwahab 6-2, 6-4 and Shao-Po Yin forced a third set and defeated Tom Miller 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.
"The boys played well," Head Coach Brad Ferreira said. "Felt like we let this one slip away. Sacramento is always a good team and to play them this close at their home is pretty encouraging for the rest of conference play."
The tennis team will now host four matches starting with Santa Clara and then continue Big Sky play hosting Eastern Washington, North Dakota and Portland State.
