The University of the Pacific  made a clean 7-0 sweep of Weber State in the first of three matches in Las Vegas this weekend.Â
Pacific started off claiming all three doubles matches followed by all six singles competitions. All of the Wildcats fought hard in the second sets of thier matches but couldn't come out victorious.Â
"We went away from our doubles strategy which costs us the first point," Director of Tennis Brad Ferreira said. "Everyone tried to adjust to outdoors play and lower altitude in the first sets but everyone fought well in the second sets. We lost a lot of close second sets. Good effort for the beginning of the year and trying to play outside but we got outplayed by a solid team."
Weber State is now 0-2 on the season and will start Big Sky Conference play on Feb. 20 against North Dakota. Weber State will next take on the UNLV and New Mexico State this weekend before going to Idaho State in a non-conference match up Feb. 2.Â
