Iona used a big first half run to knock off Weber State 76-54 late Friday night in the semifinals of the Great Alaska Shootout in Anchorage. The Wildcats will play Buffalo in the consolation game Saturday night.

With Weber State leading 12-9 four minutes into the game, Iona went on a 23-2 run over the next eight minutes to blow the game open. The Gaels led 39-27 at halftime after making seven first half 3-pointers. Iona led by as many as 22 points in the second half and Weber State was never closer than 14 the rest of the night.

Iona shot 45 percent from the field and knocked down 13 3-pointers, while Weber State shot just 37 and was 5 of 17 from 3-point range. Iona also had just six turnovers, compared to 14 for the Wildcats.

Dusty Baker led Weber State with 12 points but was the only Wildcat in double figures. Kyndahl Hill added eight points and seven rebounds, Cody John had eight points and three assists, and Jerrick Harding had a career-high seven points. Jeremy Senglin had a season-low six points.

Weber State (2-3) will play the University of Buffalo (3-2) in the consolation game Saturday at 5:30 p.m. AST (7:30 p.m. MST). Buffalo lost 67-62 to Nevada Friday night in the semifinals.
