Wildcats make clean 7-0 sweep of the Thunderbirds

OGDEN - Weber State men's tennis made a clean 7-0 sweep of Southern Utah Saturday afternoon.
"Everyone performed extrememly well in today's match and it was a great win to have under belt before we take on Northern Arizona University," said Diretor of Tennis Brad Ferreira.
Weber State started the day off with a quick sweep of the doubles matches. Sanjay Goswami and Stefan Cooper took down Ryan Andrus and Branden Olcott in the No. 1 spot 6-1. In the No. 2 spot, Todd Fought and Jakub Gewert defeated Jacob Nelson and Ben Yeacker 6-1. To finish off doubles Landon Barlow and Hou-En Chen defeated Peyton Garnett and Joshua Coen 6-0 in the No. 3 spot.
The Wildcats didn't back down in the singles competition with all six Wildcats picking up victories. Barlow didn't lose a single set and took down Coen in the No.4 with scores of 6-0, 6-0. Gewert defeated Nelson 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 1 spot snapping a four match losing streak.
Fought took down Andrus 6-4, 6-0 in the No. 2 spot and Cooper defeated Olcott 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 3 spot.
Scott Hintze picked up a big win by taking down Peyton Garnett 6-0,6-1 in the No. 6 spot.
Weber State is now 5-6 overall on the season and remains undefeated in Big Sky Conference play with a 4-0 record. They will take on Northern Arizona at home Sunday, March 20 before hiting the road to Northern Colorado and Air Force, March 26 and March 27.
