RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Weber State men's tennis team fell to UC Irvine 7-0, Tuesday afternoon.
"The boys played very well," said Director of Tennis, Brad Ferreira. "It is difficult to go from indoors and high altitude to oudoors at low altitude, so Irvine definitely had the advantage and we played them extremely close in all the matches. It was a very good effort against a solid team."
Weber State started the day off with a lone victory in doubles play in the No. 1 spot. Sanjay Goswami and Stefan Cooper defeated Jonathan Poon and Justin Agbayani 6-4.
Several Wildcats put up strong performances in singles play with close scores and tie breaker sets in all six compeititions but Irvine came out victorious for a 7-0 final score.
Weber State is now 4-6 overall on the season and remain 3-0 in Big Sky Conference play. The Wildcats will host Southern Utah March 19 and Northern Arizona March 20 for the next conference match ups.
