Wildcats drop Big Sky opener 62-60 to Idaho State

OGDEN - Weber State dropped the Big Sky opener 62-60 to Idaho State Saturday night at the Dee Events Center.
The Wildcats were just 3 of 16 from 3-point range, a season-low, and also had a season-low four assists. WSU was also outrebounded 34-27 as ISU shot 51 percent from the field.
Idaho State jumped out to a quick 19-5 lead eight minutes into the game before Weber State started a comeback. Trailing 21-9, the Wildcats went on a 10-2 run to cut the lead to four points and trailed 31-27 at halftime.
Weber State started the second half on a 9-3 run and took a lead 36-34 with 15:37 to play. The Bengals stretched their lead to 10 points and 62-52 with 2:29 to play before back-to-back 3-pointers and a layup cut the lead to two at 62-60 with 18 seconds left. ISU missed three free throws in the final 18 seconds but the Wildcats could not score.
Weber State shot 45 percent from the field, including 18 percent from 3-point range.
Jerrick Harding once again led the Wildcats, finishing with 27 points on 12 of 20 shooting to go along with a season-high six rebounds. Zach Braxton and Ryan Richardson each had 10 points while Michal Kozak had seven points and seven rebounds.
The loss was WSU's first home loss of the season and the first win by ISU in Ogden in 10 years. WSU falls to 7-6 on the season.
The Wildcats are back home for two more home games next week hosting Northern Arizona Thursday and Southern Utah Saturday.
