OGDEN – With the start of the Big Sky Conference season just a week away, the Wildcats get one final weekend to prepare.
The Weber State University women's soccer team hosts Boise State on Friday night at 7 p.m., and then travels to face Arizona State on Sunday at 2 p.m. MT on Sunday to wrap up its 2017 non-conference slate.
Links to live stats and live video are available at www.weberstatesports.com. Friday's match with Boise State will also stream live on Pluto TV, Channel 235.
Weber State (1-5-0) will be meeting Boise State (4-3-1) for the eighth time, with the Wildcats holding a 3-2-2 record in seven previous meetings. WSU won the last meeting between the two sides in dramatic fashion in 2015, with midfielder Chansi Crompton scoring the match-tying goal in the final 20 seconds, before the Wildcats scored the match winner in the second overtime period for a 3-2 road win.
Friday's meeting will be the third meeting between the two teams in Ogden, with Weber State winning 3-0 in 1998 and 3-0 in 2007 in the two previous meetings.
Sunday's match with Arizona State (2-3-1) will be the four meeting between the Wildcats and Sun Devils. ASU is 2-1-0 in the previous three matches. Weber State defeated Arizona State 5-1 in the teams' inaugural meeting in 1997, with the Sun Devils winning 5-2 in 2005 and 4-0 in 2008.
It will be Weber State's third meeting with a member of the Pac-12 this season. The Wildcats hosted No. 20 Utah in an exhibition match in August, and fell 2-0 to No. 1 ranked UCLA on Sept. 3.
Weber State is coming off a 3-1 loss to North Texas on the road last week, a match that saw the Wildcats stake out a 1-0 lead early before the Mean Green rallied for the win.
After this weekend's matches, the Wildcats will open up Big Sky Conference action on Sept. 22 against Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo., before traveling to Grand Forks, N.D., to take on North Dakota in their final regular season meeting with the Fighting Hawks as members of the Big Sky Conference.
