Wildcat soccer falls 1-0 to Boise State

9/15/2017 11:05:00 PM | Women's Soccer

OGDEN – The Wildcats turned in a strong performance on both ends of the field, and everywhere in between, came up achingly short on Friday night.

Despite outshooting and out possessing their opponent, the Weber State University women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Boise State at Wildcat Soccer Field.

The Wildcats (1-6-0) outshot the Broncos (5-3-1) 13-7, including a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal. Unfortunately for the Purple and White, that one shot on goal found its way into the back of the net midway through the first half, and proved to be the decisive goal of the match as Boise State's Raimee Sherle scored off Sarah Taylor's assist from 15 yards out on the left angle in the 25th minute.

Weber State outshot Boise State 7-2 in the opening half, putting four of its second shots on frame. The Wildcats also won the second half battle 6-5, placing three on frame. The Wildcats also had six corner kicks.

Weber State will return to action on Sunday afternoon in Tempe, Ariz., against the Arizona State Sun Devils. ASU is 2-4-1 overall this year after falling 1-0 to Hawai'i on Friday night at home.
