Wildcat cross country competes at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Weber State University men's and women's cross country teams both finished in the top 20 at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Friday morning.

The Wildcat men's team finished 13th in the five-mile race, led by freshman Jacob Stone's time of 24 minutes, 28 seconds, which was good enough for 37th overall out of 172 runners.

WSU finished ahead of Iowa, Florida State, Baylor, and host Notre Dame in the prestigious meet.

Junior Jordan Cross finished with a time of 24:38.2 to finish 50th overall.

The Weber State women's squad finished 17th overall in the stacked women's field that included two of the top three teams in the nation.

Sophomore Summer Harper let the Wildcat efforts with a time of 17:34.4, finishing 61st overall in the 5K race. Freshman Bailey Winter was the second Weber State runner to cross the finish like, coming in at 73rd with a time of 17:45.8.

Weber State will be back in action on Friday at the Utah State Invitational in Logan, Utah.
