Wildcats soccer heads to North Texas Friday

DENTON, Texas – The Wildcats are heading to the Lone Star State.
The Weber State University women's soccer team travels to Texas this week to face the North Texas on Friday night in its only match of the week.
Kickoff between the Wildcats (1-4-0) and Mean Green (3-2-0) is set for 6 p.m. MT on Friday at the Mean Green Soccer Complex.
This will be the second meeting between the two teams, with Weber State defeating North Texas 1-0 at home on Oct. 3, 1997 in the only previous meeting.
Weber State is coming off a hard-fought 2-0 loss to No. 1 UCLA on Sunday night. The Wildcats held the Bruins' powerful offense scoreless in the opening half, and with UCLA scoring the match-winner in the 49th minute and a second with ten seconds remaining. Overall the Wildcats held the Bruins to just three shots on goal in the match.
North Texas beat Houston Baptist 5-0 in its last outing, scoring three first-half goals. The Mean Green received one 25th-place vote in this week's United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll.
