"Idaho State never disappoints," said head coach Tim Crompton. "They played with everything they had on their senior day. Our girls weathered the storm and scored some nice goals."
Shortly after kick off Weber State swung the ball around their own defensive third, Shailyn Jenkins chipped the ball behind ISU's back line where Grace Youngberg sent a wedge ball into Morgan Quarnberg who then put a left foot volley into the side 90 for Weber State's first goal of the game.
In the 26th minute ISU had a corner kick, and took advantage of the ball position to score a goal to tie things up 1-1.
The tie didn't last long as just ten minutes later, Weber State's Taylor Scadlock received a through ball from Trinity Kerr for a one on one with the Bengals goalkeeper. Scadlock slotted the ball to the back post to give the Wildcats the 2-1 lead.
Just 59 seconds later, Megan Price worked the ball through midfield and gave it up to Kerr. Price made a run and managed to stay onside as Kerr played it back to her. Price then had a one on one with ISU's keeper and finished the shot for a goal.
The Wildcats had a 3-1 lead at the end of the first half.
Madison Garlock cut the ball back to the top corner of ISU's 18 in the 58th minute of play. Garlock then bent a ball around an ISU's defender and sent it soaring into the upper v for Weber State's fourth goal of the game.
In the 61st minute of play, Idaho State maintained possession the entire length of the field for a cross into centerfield for a goal to bring the score 4-2 still in favor for WSU.
Idaho State came up with another retaliation goal in the 72nd minute of play bringing the score 4-3.
The game hit the final minute of play and WSU needed to maintain possession. Garlock had the ball at midfield and cut back the ball and sent it forward as Quarnberg was making a long run. Quarnberg took the ball and sunk it into the back lower 90 for her second goal of the game and the fifth WSU goal of the game.
Weber State finished the regular season with a 9-4-4 overall record and a 7-1-1 record in Big Sky play.
