Missoula, MT - Weber State soccer will take on the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks in the Big Sky Conference Tournament Semi-Final round on Friday, November 7th at 11:00 a.m.
The Wildcats, 11-6-1 (5-2-1), closed out their regular season with a 3-0 win over Idaho State on the back of a Grace Kirby hat trick. The win clinched the 'Cats the #2 seed and a bye in the Big Sky Tournament.Â
The Lumberjacks defeated the Eastern Washington Eagles on Wednesday afternoon, 2-1, thanks to 2 goals in just 12 minutes in the opening frame. With the win, the Lumberjacks clinched a spot in the semi-final round of the tournament, where the Wildcats were waiting.
This will be the 36th time that the two programs have squared off, with the Wildcats leading the all-time series 17-12-6. In conference tournament play, the Wildcats lead the all-time series 4-3.
When these two sides met earlier this season in Flagstaff, 90 minutes were not enough to decide a winner, as the game ended in a 1-1 tie. Lily Blum scored the equalizer off a Tenzi Knowles assist in the 56th minute, tying the score at 1-1, a score that would remain intact for the remaining 33 minutes of action.
The last time the Wildcats made the Big Sky Conference tournament in 2022, the 'Cats fell in the semi-final round to the Lumberjacks in penalty kicks 1-1 (4-2 PKs).Â
