OGDEN - On the final day of the Dar Walters Fall Classic Kris van Wyk and Michiel Van Schoor found themselves victors of the Greg Patton doubles main draw. The Wildcats competed and beat two very strong doubles teams from Gonzaga. They won in dominating fashion with a score of 6-3.
"We had good wins from Nick, Johnny, Gielie and Junhao. Good effort from everyone this weekend," head coach Brad Ferriera said.
Kris van Wyk found himself in the match of the weekend where he was playing against Rudhan O' Sulliven in the quarterfinals who was the number one overall seeded singles player. Kris held Sulliven in the first set but fell short the last two sets.
"Kris was very impressive again this week, and just ran out of steam after his first match of the tournament," Ferriera said.
Fellow Wildcat Nick Werner found success by defeating Montana's Pontus Hallgren in the quarterfinals of the blue singles consolation draw. Due to unforeseeable weather changes the tournament moved locations which placed priority on singles and doubles matches from the main flights.
Next tournament for the Wildcats will be the ITA Regionals on October 15-19.
