Jordan Cross heads to NCAA Track Championships

Weber State track and field senior Jordan Cross will represent the Wildcats at the NCAA Championships this week in Eugene, Oregon.Â
Cross will run in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA Championships this week at Hayward Field, hosted by the University of Oregon. He will compete in the semifinals on Wednesday, June 6 at 6 p.m. MT. A total of 24 athletes will run in the event and the top 12 will advance to the finals, which will be Friday, June 8 at 6:54 p.m. MT. He enters the NCAA meet ranked seventh among those who qualified. Â
He qualified for the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career by finishing seventh in the steeplechase at the NCAA West Preliminary Round two weeks ago in Sacramento. He posted a career best time of 8:41.72 to qualify for the event.Â
Cross, an alum of Ogden High School, won the Big Sky title in the steeplechase last month in Moscow, Idaho, posting a time of 9:01.49.
He is the first WSU men's track and field athlete to compete at the NCAA Championships since 2015.Â

Cross will be the last Weber State student-athlete to compete during the 2017-18 season.Â
