XC heads to Big Sky Championships

OGDEN, UT - It's Big Sky Championship time for the Weber State cross country teams! The Wildcat men's and women's cross country teams will be competing at the Big Sky Conference Championships this Saturday, November 2nd, in Greeley, Colorado.
The conference meet will be held at the Boomerang Golf Course in Greeley, hosted by the University of Northern Colorado. The race will be held on the back nine of the green. The women's 5K race will begin at 11:30Â am MT, and the men's 8K race will follow at 12:30Â pm MT. Live results will be available here.
Both races will feature multiple nationally-ranked teams. On the men's side, Northern Arizona is the three-time defending national champions and the Lumberjacks are again ranked first in the country this season, while Southern Utah is ranked 19th in the national coaches poll.
The Wildcat men will have eight athletes competing at the meet. The eight running are: Christian Allen, Austin Byrer, Jordan Cross, Taylor Dillon, Tyson Green, Dallin Leatham, Jacob Stone, and Bronson Winter.
Weber State is currently ranked 8th in the Mountain region with Wyoming just ahead in 7th place.
The Wildcat men finished second in the Big Sky Conference meet last season in Sacramento, California. Weber State has won seven cross country conference titles.
On the women's side, the Wildcats will have eight athletes competing, including Abby Lawrence, Lexie Thompson, Laurie Murphy, Cheyenne Leatham, Isabella Williams, Bailey Wall, Shanee Harris, and Liza Sybrowsky.
The women's race features a nationally-ranked team with Northern Arizona sitting in 27th in the national polls. The Wildcats are 9th in the Mountain region poll with Utah State just ahead in 8th. At the 2018 Big Sky Championship meet last year, the women finished third.
Weber State has won eight conference championships in its history, including four of the last seven Big Sky titles.
After Saturday's meet, both teams will prepare for the NCAA Mountain Regionals Championship on November 15th in Salt Lake City, Utah.
