Wildcats host San Diego in home opener Thursday

• It's the home opener for Weber State as the Wildcats host the University of San Diego Toreros Thursday night at the Dee Events Center. Â
• Weber State opened the season with an 89-34 loss at Utah State last Friday in Logan. WSU is coming off an 18-15 overall record and an 11-9 record in Big Sky play last season.Â
• San Diego is 1-2 on the season and coming off an overtime win over Fresno State on Tuesday night.Â
• Weber State head coach Randy Rahe returns for his 14th season as head coach of the Wildcats. Rahe is the Weber State's and the Big Sky Conference's all-time leader in coaching victories with 266 career wins.Â
• The Toreros are coached by Sam Scholl who is in his second season at USD.
• Weber State senior Jerrick Harding missed the season opener with a foot injury. Harding was named the Big Sky Preseason MVP and is a two-time first-team All-Big Sky selection.Â
• Weber State is 51-6 all-time in home openers.Â
• The Wildcats were picked to finish second in the Big Sky preseason media poll and third in the coaches poll.Â
• This will be the sixth all-time meeting between Weber State and San Diego. The Wildcats hold a 3-2 all-time series lead.Â
• San Diego beat Weber State 83-66 in San Diego in the season opener last year. Â
