‘Cats end non-conference season with loss at BYU

PROVO - Weber State closed out the non-conference portion of the season with a 91-61 loss at BYU Saturday night at the Marriott Center.
The Cougars shot a school record 80 percent from the field in the first half and jumped led 51-24 at the break. The Wildcats were never closer than 17 points the rest of the way.
BYU finished the game shooting 63 percent from the field, compared to 43 percent for the Wildcats. The Cougars knocked down nine 3-pointers and out rebounded WSU 36-26.
Once again Jerrick Harding led the Wildcats with 27 points. He was 10 of 16 from the field, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range.
He was the only Wildcat in double figures, Michal Kozak added nine, while Khan Davis and KJ Cunningham each had seven.
Yoeli Childs had 28 points on 11 of 13 shooting for BYU.
WSU finishes the non-conference season with a 4-7 record.
The 'Cats open the 20-game Big Sky Conference season next Saturday, Dec. 28 with a home game against Easterin Washington. Tip-off will be at 2 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.
